Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets and the Ector Lady Eagles both came into Tuesday night's District 21A match with 1-0 district records and when the dust cleared Dodd City was in first place with a three-set victory.
The Lady Hornets reeled off wins of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-15 for the sweep.
Dodd City's Addison Weeks knocked down a match-high 22 kills and Gracyn Shindler was also in double digits with 11 kills.
Kodi Dorau put down six kills and Kaleigh McBrayer had two kills.
Shindler handed out 14 assists, Kenzi Freeman finished with eight assists, Weeks dished out seven assists, while McBrayer and Adisen White both doled out five assists.
Weeks came up with a team-high 20 digs, Shindler had 18 digs, Freeman got under 17 digs, McBrayer had 10 digs, Kennedy Chaney had six digs, with White and Kendyl Lindsey each coming up with three digs.
Weeks led the front-line defense with three blocks, Caroline Lackey had two blocks and Dorau had one block.
Ector will host Savoy on Friday, October 17, while Dodd City will host TCA in a non-district match.
District 21A is comprised of Ector, Dodd City and Savoy.
