Leonard Lady Tigers defeat Ector, 3-1

Leonard, Texas -- In a non-district contest, the Leonard Lady Tigers improved to 29-5 on the year with a four-set win over the Ector Lady Eagles.

Leonard took the first set, 25-18, but Ector evened up the match with a 25-16 victory in the second set.

Leonard pulled away midway through the third set to post a 25-16 win and the Lady Tigers finished strong with a 25-8 victory in the fourth set to clinch the match.

Bella Neaville led the Leonard attack with 10 kills, Riley Brown was close behind with nine kills, Madison Jones sslammed down seven kills, Avery Ross and Leah Stoy both finished with five kills, Ashlynn Cavendar had four kills, Ava Flowers put down a pair of kills and Caroline Holton had one kill.

Flowers dished out 43 assists to her Lady Tiger hitters.

Olivia Aylor finished with five aces and nine digs, leading Leonard in both categories.

Stoy had four aces.

Jasper Cunningham came up with three digs to go along with one ace, while Emma Houser had an ace and one dig.

District action for the Lady Tigers (4-3) will resume on Friday, October 10 when Bells (5-2) visits Leonard.

The Ector Lady Eagles will enjoy a bye on Friday and then return to district competition at Dodd City on Tuesday, October 14.
