Savoy, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets opened district with a win over the Savoy Lady Cardinals in straight sets.
Dodd City reeled off wins of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-15.
Addison Weeks put down a match-high 20 kills, Gracyn Shindler had eight kills, Kodi Dorau finished with four kills, Kaleigh McBrayer contributed two kills, with Caroline Lackey and Taylor Voss each knocking down one kill.
Shindler handed out a dozen assists, McBrayer doled out eight assists, Adisen White had six assists, Weeks had five assists and Kenzi Freeman dished out a pair of assists.
Freeman came up with a match-high 14 digs, Shindler had 11 digs and McBrayer got under 10 digs.
White led the Lady Hornets at the service line with seven aces, Shindler and Lindsey each had four aces, while Freeman and McBrayer both had two aces.
The Dodd City Lady Hornets will take Friday off and then return to district play on Tuesday, October 14 when they host Ector.
The Savoy Lady Cardinals have a bye on Friday before hosting Fannindel on Tuesday, October 14 in a non-district match.
