Leonard, Texas -- The Gunter Lady Tigers moved to 5-0 atop District 11-3A with a four-set win over a Leonard Lady Tigers team that was missing two starters Friday evening.
Gunter started the match with a pair of wins, 25-16 and 25-16.
Leonard turned back Gunter in the third set, 25-22, but Gunter finished strong with a 25-11 victory to clinch the match.
Leah Stoy led Leonard with seven kills, Caroline Holton and Madison Jones both put down three kills, Riley Brown had a pair of kills and Ava Flowers finished with one kills, two aces and 15 assists.
Ashlynn Cavendar and Brown both had two blocks.
Olivia Aylor came up with a team-high nine digs to go along with a pair of aces and an assist.
Emma Houser had seven digs.
In other district action, Bells edged Blue Ridge in a tiebreaker to move to 4-1 in conference competition.
Leonard and Blue Ridge are tied for third place in District 11-3A with matching 3-2 marks.
Leonard is 27-4 for the year.
Gunter will host Bells on Tuesday, while Leonard will travel to Howe.
