Denison, Texas -- The Denison Genealogy Society invites all members and interested community members to attend its monthly meeting on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Community Room at the Frontier Village, Loy Lake Park, 111 RC Vaughan Rd., Denison, Texas.

This month’s featured speaker is Robin Cole-Jett, widely recognized as the “Red River Historian.” For over two decades, Ms. Cole-Jett has dedicated herself to researching, documenting, and sharing the fascinating history of the Red River Valley—where the South meets the West. Her passion is to inspire others to discover the unique and intriguing stories of this remarkable region.

Ms. Cole-Jett will present on the topic of “Steamboats on the Red River,” exploring the vital role these vessels played in the history and development of the area. As a publisher, writer, and regional historian, she specializes in location research and maps. Her notable publications include Traveling History among the Ghosts, Traveling History Up the Cattle Trails, and The Red River Valley in Arkansas, among others.
