Diane spent 15 fruitful years as a cook at the Veteran's State Hospital in Bonham, where her warm smile and delicious meals brought comfort to many. It was within these hallowed halls that she met her beloved husband, Leroy Leftwich, with whom she shared 24 beautiful years of marriage.
A woman of devout Christian faith, Diane's relationship with God was the cornerstone of her life. Her belief was as unwavering as a mighty oak tree, providing shelter and solace to her loved ones during life's storms. Diane expressed her faith not only through her words but also through her actions, living a life of kindness, generosity, and compassion that mirrored the teachings of Jesus.
Creativity coursed through Diane's veins. She was immensely talented at drawing, painting, and crocheting, often gifting her family and friends with the beautiful works of art she created. Her artistic skills were a testament to her ability to see beauty in the world and to share it with others. Diane's hands were rarely still, as she was always crafting something that brought joy to those around her.
Those who knew Diane will remember her as a faith-filled and creative soul. She was a loving wife, a cherished mother, and an adored MawMaw. A celebration of life is Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Wise Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, and 5 siblings. She is survived by husband, Leroy Leftwich, sons, Douglas Hemphill, Chad Hemphill, Chris Hemphill, Bo Leftwich, Josh Leftwich, Danny Floyd and wife Morgan, brother, Crawford Harris, and 15 grandchildren.
