Kaleidoscope Park celebrates one-year anniversary

Signature fall fundraiser and free community celebration mark milestone occasion

Frisco, Texas -- 
Kaleidoscope Park, the 5.7-acre nonprofit public space in Frisco, is approaching its first anniversary following its highly anticipated debut last October. In just one year, the Park has emerged as one of North Texas’ premier cultural destinations by welcoming thousands of visitors, showcasing world-class public art, and hosting a dynamic calendar of free, year-round inclusive programs.
To commemorate this milestone occasion, Kaleidoscope Park will host a weekend of festivities beginning with a ticketed signature fundraiser on Friday, October 3, followed by a full day of free programming for the community on Saturday, October 4.
The anniversary weekend will open with Sunset Soirée: Boots, Butterflies & Bourbon, presented by Avondale Dealerships, the Park’s official luxury automotive partner. Chaired by respected North Texas leaders Ann and Del Harris, the Western-inspired fundraiser will benefit Kaleidoscope Park Foundation, with all proceeds supporting the Park’s mission. Supporting sponsors include Travel by Kiki, Tammy and Charles Miller, Grapevine Golf Cars, HALL Wines, Lockwood Distilling Co., and Rollertown Beerworks. Guests will begin the evening at 6 p.m. with cocktails in the Arts Plaza beneath Janet Echelman’s breathtaking net sculpture Butterfly Rest Stop, before enjoying a series of activations throughout the Park, including: 
  • Country music by Melody of Hope duo 
  • Country-Western dance performance by the Aggie Wranglers 
  • Two live longhorns 
  • Avondale Dealerships luxury vehicle displays in premium locations 
  • Silent art auction and raffle prizes 
  • Themed photo opportunities 
Guests will also enjoy hors d’oeuvres from HALL Park Hotel, paired with HALL Wine, Rollertown Beerworks beer, and premium bourbon pours from Lockwood Distilling Co. Later in the evening, guests will gather at the Performance Lawn for remarks from Kaleidoscope Park Foundation Board Chair Florence Shapiro, HALL Group Founder Craig Hall, Kaleidoscope Park Executive Director Shawn Jackson, and Honorary Chairs Ann and Del Harris. The evening will conclude with a dazzling drone show presented by Sky Elements.
The celebration continues Saturday, October 4 at 10 a.m. for a free community day filled with programming for all ages. Visitors can look forward to:
  • Morning fitness classes 
  • A traditional farmers market 
  • Vendor market presented by Comerica Bank 
  • Music bingo, stilt walkers, and lawn games 
  • Pet giveaways and sketch artist in the Happy FurEver Dog Park 
  • Petting zoo, arts and crafts, and face painting 
  • Pop-up activations from community partners, including Main Event, Sci-Tech Discovery Center, and the Texas Legends with their mascot Dunker 
Featured performances throughout the day will include: 
  • A showcase by North Texas Performing Arts youth troupe 
  • The Plano Symphony Orchestra’s Instrument Petting Zoo, presented by Capital One 
  • A jazz quartet performance by the Plano Symphony Orchestra, presented by Capital One 
  • Live DJ sets 
  • A concert by the Emerald City All-Stars to close out the festivities  
Food and beverages will be available throughout the weekend from a diverse selection of food trucks and vendors, with complimentary parking provided.

ABOUT HALL PARK
A pioneering development in Frisco since the mid-1990s, HALL Park today encompasses 2.2 million square feet of office and retail space throughout 15 buildings. One-third of the park is dedicated to green space and includes three miles of walking trails, over 200 works of art including the Texas Sculpture Garden, the largest private collection of contemporary Texas sculpture made available to the public.
