Bonham, Texas -- The Creative Arts Center recently announced the winners of their annual Community Art Contest.
Carolyn Cook-Fauble took home Best of Show ribbon and $250 cash prize for her acrylic piece entitled "Moons of Esher."
Caroline Blackwell won First Place honors and $200 for her oil painting “Cliffs of Ireland.”
Tatiana Suvorova earned Second Place honors and $150 for her oil pastel “Daddy is Home 2.”
Third place honors and $100 went to Nancy Shuler for her photograph called “Stained Glass Blooming.”
Chris Cravens earned $50 and Honorable Mention for his acrylic painting entitled “Hayfield Sunset.”
Lisa Temple, an artist from McKinney was this year’s art contest judge.
This year’s contest attracted 29 artists who entered a combined 61 entries, which was nearly double the numbers entered last year. All entries are on display at the Creative Arts Center until the end of September.
Many pieces are available for sale. The nonprofit art gallery is open Tuesday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon and is located at 200 W 5th in historic, downtown Bonham.
