Council makes continued investments
in public safety and growth
The city continues to invest in the future by allocating $327.7 million for the capital improvement program. Additionally, the budget addresses staffing needs, with 27 additional city staff members approved to be added to the general fund next fiscal year. This includes five additional staff in the Police Department, five in the Fire Department, four in Parks and Recreation and Library, three in Public Works, three in Development Services, and seven will support various city departments.
“This budget reflects our City Council’s commitment to being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars while planning strategically for McKinney’s future,” said City Manager Paul Grimes. “By maintaining a modest tax levy, expanding public safety staffing, and making major investments in infrastructure, we are positioning McKinney to continue delivering high-quality services as our community grows.”
