Dodd City, Texas -- The Class A Dodd City Lady Hornets fell in straight sets to the Community Lady Braves out of District 13-4A.
Community controlled the action in the first set with a 25-11 victory.
Dodd City was very competitive in the next two sets but eventually fell, 25-19 and 25-18.
Addison Weeks had an impressive match with 18 kills against a Class 4A opponent. Gracyn Shindler put down eight kills, while Kendyl Lindsey and Kodi Dorau each had one kill.
Shindler handed out 10 assists, Kaleigh McBrayer had six assists, Kenzi Freeman finished with four assists, Adisen White and Weeks both had three assists, with Lindsey and Dorau dishing out one assist apiece.
Weeks had a team-high 13 digs, Kenzi Freeman came up with nine digs, Shindler had seven digs, McBrayer and Dorau each had six assists, Lindsey got under three digs, while Caroline Lackey and White both had one dig.
Weeks and White each had a pair of aces.
Dorau and Weeks had one block apiece.
The Lady Hornets will travel to Ivanhoe on Tuesday, September 9 to take on the Sam Rayburn Lady Rebels, while Community will pay a visit to Sulphur Springs.
