Bonham, Texas -- Judy Kay Jones, of Telephone, TX was ushered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 27, 1950, in Lipan, Texas, Judy's life was a tapestry of devotion, artistry, and service, woven with the threads of family, faith, and community.
Judy's early years in Lipan were filled with the simple joys of rural life until her family moved to McKinney, Texas, in the mid-1960s. It was here that she discovered her passion for art and drawing, a talent that would bring joy to many throughout her life. Judy's love for creativity was only matched by her love for people, and she spent countless hours with friends and family, sharing stories, laughter, and her warm, thoughtful presence.
After marrying the love of her life, Phillip Hernandez Jr., on January 21, 1969, in McKinney, Judy embraced her role as a devoted mother to five children. As a homemaker, she created a nurturing environment filled with love and encouragement, always putting the needs of her family first. Her home was a welcoming haven where everyone was treated like family, and her children remember her as the heart of their home.
Judy worked at Collin Memorial Hospital in the Linen Department, where her attention to detail and warm demeanor made her a favorite among her coworkers. Judy also served as a bus driver for McKinney ISD and Sam Rayburn ISD.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Judy lived her beliefs through her actions, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. She was an active member of her church community, where she found strength and solace in her faith. Judy's Christian values were evident in the love and kindness she extended to all who knew her.
Judy's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She had a natural ability to create beauty, whether through her art, her home, or her interactions with others. She took great delight in cooking the holiday meals for her family, riding horses, spending time tending to her cattle and loving on her dogs.
