Dodd City, Texas -- It was a battle between a pair of state-ranked teams Tuesday night when the Dodd City lady Hornets, ranked No. 17 in Class A, hosted the Collinsville Lady Pirates, the No. 17 team in Class 2A.
The teams split the first two sets, with Collinsville taking the opener, 25-15, and Dodd City winning the second set, 25-22.
Collinsville won a pivotal third set, 25-18, and clinched the match with a 25-15 victory in the fourth set.
Addison Weeks led Dodd City with 18 kills, Gracyn Shindler put down seven kills and Kaleigh McBrayer had two kills.
Shindler handed out 10 assists, Adisen While was close behind with nine kills, Weeks dished out six assists and McBrayer doled out a pair of assists.
Weeks had a team-high 23 digs, Kenzi Freeman got under 22 digs and Shindler was also in double figures with 11 digs.
Kodi Dorau was a force at the net with seven blocks against a Class 2A opponent. Weeks had six blocks, Shindler finished with four blocks and Caroline Lackey had one block.
Dodd City will travel to Miller Grove on Friday.
