Detroit, Texas -- In the second day of competition at the Detroit Volleyball Tournament, the Leonard Lady Tigers reeled off their sixth-consecutive win to start the year before falling to Detroit in the finals.

In the first match Saturday, Leonard routed Sam Rayburn, 25-11 and 25-10. Leah Stoy put down seven kills and Bella Neaville slammed down six kills.

Ava Flowers had four aces to go along with 19 assists and a pair of kills.

Emma Houser and Olivia Aylor each had three digs.

Avery Ross had a kill and an ace. Brooke Hancock contributed an ace and a dig.

Leonard faced the hometown Detroit Lady Eagles in the finals and came up short, 25-19 and 25-19.

Leah Stoy led the attack with eight kills and three aces. Bella Neaville and Avery Ross both finished with four kills, Riley Brown had three kills and Cara Barlagne contributed one kill.

Ava Flowers handed out 20 assists.

Emma Houser and Olivia Aylor finished with seven digs apiece.

The Lady Tigers (6-1) will travel to Miller Grove on Friday, August 19.
