Tom Bean, Texas -- The Tom Bean Lady Cats defended their home turf with a  25-22 win in the opener, but the Dodd City Lady Hornets turned back Tom Bean, 25-19, in a pivotal second set and Dodd City cruised to easy wins of 25-11 and 25-12 in the next two sets to win the match.

Dodd City senior Addison Weeks led all hitters with 23 kills and sophomore Gracyn Shindler was also in double digits with 13 kills. Kody Dorou finished with four kills, Caroline Lackey had three kills and Kaleigh McBrayer put down one kill.

Shindler dished out 14 assists and McBrayer handed out 10 assists.

Weeks came up with a team-high 19 digs. Kenzi Freeman and McBrayer both had 10 digs and Kennedy Chaney got under six digs.

Weeks also led the team at the service line with five aces, Kendyl Lindsey finished with four aces, Shindler had three aces, Dorau contributed a pair of aces and Freeman had one ace.

Dorau and McBrayer both had two blocks.

The Dodd City Lady Hornets (3-2) will host Boles on Tuesday, August 19.
