As the first public building in the City of Anna, the library is envisioned as a vibrant hub for families and individuals of all ages, with dedicated spaces for children, teens, and adults, along with programs supporting lifelong learning and community connection. Selected artworks will be considered for purchase and permanent display, reflecting the library’s mission to serve as a welcoming gathering place for neighbors and a center for creativity.
The call for artists opens on August 15, 2025, and closes on September 15, 2025, with notifications of selection expected in October. The opportunity is open to artists 18 years or older currently residing in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Rockwall, Johnson, Grayson, Parker, or Tarrant counties, with priority consideration given to artists living in Collin County. Works must be complete, available for purchase, and priced under $5,000. Accepted media include a variety of 2D and 3D forms, such as painting, drawing, photography, textiles, ceramics, metalwork, woodworking, glass, stone, found object assemblage, and 3D-printed sculpture.
Artists are encouraged to explore themes that align with the spirit of the library and its community, including literature and storytelling, community and belonging, imagination and whimsy, nature and local fauna, Texas culture, and bold color palettes.
