The Texas Rattlers went 2-1 at Freedom Days in Sunrise, Fla. and currently reside second in the PBR Camping World Team Series standings with a 6-2 record.
After beating the Carolina Cowboys on Friday night, the Rattlers only fell to the No. 1 Arizona Ridge Riders (7-1) Saturday night. The Rattlers had held the lead in the standings via a tiebreaker over Arizona after Friday night heading into the meeting.
The 2023 PBR Teams Champions bounced back from Saturday night’s loss with a 176.25-87.25 win on Sunday over the New York Mavericks. Both squads notched qualified rides in the first frame with Daniel Keeping’s 86-point ride atop Gunsmoke being the difference maker in the end.
The Rattlers top rider Brady Fielder, a 25-year-old cowboy from Australia, sits sixth in the MVP standings with 441.5 points, 77.25 points behind the leader. Keeping, who went 3-for-3 on the weekend, rides in 14th place with 344.75 points.
Fielder returned to action at Freedom Days after missing only one event, taking two weeks off due to a fractured leg. Inside Amerant Bank Arena, he rode all three bulls he climbed on. His first ride was atop DirtyBru for 83.5 points, followed by Big Chilie Saturday for 81.25, and Eyes on Me Sunday with an event-high 90.25-point ride.
Rattler Days sits just over a month-and-a-half away from Sept. 26-28. Tickets are available on PBR.com, ticketmaster.com, the Dickies Arena Box Office, or by calling PBR customer service at (800) 732-1727.
