Hay samples need to be turned in to the Grayson County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office next week (August 11-15).
Denison, Texas -- The 1st Annual Grayson County Hay Show will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Denison, TX.
The event, brought to you by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Grayson County will be offered from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on at the Mayor’s Arena inside the Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show, 1022 RC Vaughn Rd, Denison, TX.
The Hay Show costs $20 per person and includes dinner, presentations, contests, and a tradeshow.
"The goal of the Grayson County Hay Show is to highlight the hay producers’ hard work. In addition, we’ll have some healthy competition, contest awards, good food, and discuss ways to improve your hay forage quality for next year," said D. Chad Cummings, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Hay samples can be brought to the Grayson County Courthouse – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Office (100 W Houston St., Sherman, TX, office A-G-1) between August 11 and August 15, 2025 (8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.). One hay sample per producer will be collected (on hay produced in Grayson County), and quality analysis will be run at no cost as part of the hay campaign and hay quality contest. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will ship the samples for analysis and present hay quality analysis/interpretation to the producer.
