McKinney, Texas (July 31, 2025) – The McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) has awarded $80,395.00 in Promotional and Community Event Grants to support a wide range of community events that promote tourism, local business growth, cultural vibrancy, and civic engagement across McKinney.

 

These grants help nonprofits and event organizers boost the visibility of community programming through advertising and marketing support, enabling them to broaden their impact and attract visitors to McKinney.

Listed below are the Promotional and Community Grants awarded by MCDC:

 

  • Hertiage Guild of Collin County – Events at Chestnut Square including weekly Farmers Markets, Educational Programs, and the 2025 Holiday Tour of Homes ($14,905)
  • Rotary Foundation of McKinney – 2025 Parade of Lights in Downtown McKinney ($7,500)
  • Texas Women Society – McKinney Asian Food and Art Festival at McKinney City Hall Plaza ($12,000)
  • McKinney Repertory Theater – 2025 Performances of National Pastime and A Christmas Carol ($6,790)
  • The Warrior’s Keep – 2025 North Texas Veterans Day Celebration at TUPPS ($5,000)
  • Collin County Master Gardeners – 2025-2026 Events at Myers Park including The Garden Show, A Walk in the Park, four workshops and two plant sales ($12,000)
  • McKinney Main Street – 2025 McKinney Oktoberfest ($14,000)
  • Art Club of McKinney – 2025-2026 events including Student Art Show, Member Art Show, Art Meets Poetry, 13 community events, and four workshops ($4,200)
  • Millennial Maven Creative Foundation – 2025 Rooted in Rhythm at District 121 ($4,000)

 

“These projects align directly with MCDC strategic priorities and our mission to work as a partner to fund community, cultural, and economic development projects in McKinney,” said MCDC Board Chair Angela Richardson-Woods. “We’re especially excited that many of the events will take place at locations where MCDC has invested through our project grants --  Chestnut Square, MPAC, City Hall Plaza, TUPPS, Downtown McKinney, and District 121.”

The Promotional Grant Program supports the MCDC mission to enhance quality of life through community, cultural, and economic development. Funding decisions were made after thorough application reviews and presentations by each applicant outlining their event’s goals and community impact.
