Grayson County, Texas -- Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a project to widen the roadway and safety treat fixed objects on FM 697 in Grayson County from Mill Creek Bridge to US 69 will get started in July 2025.
Lakey, Inc. of Lufkin, Texas, was granted 176 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $5 million. The contractor anticipates starting work on July 22, 2025. The target completion date is July of 2026, officials said.
Motorists who travel frequently in these areas are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
