Cool songs on a hot summer day

On Sunday, August 17, '25, 3:00-5:00 p.m. come chill out with us at Harmony House Concerts on Wildscape Acres, www.WildscapeAcres.com.  Scott Sean White is a newcomer to our venue, but not to Texas and other singer-songwriters. (More details in "Bio" section below. )

Scott will be playing two 45-minute sets with a 30-minute intermission for you to get acquainted with one another, to grab a snack from the tables provided, or to get a breath of fresh air on the deck or the front porch swing.  Scott will have CDs for sale on the merch table, and he'll be mighty glad to sign 'em.

Faye and Scott, the hosts of Harmony House welcome all who attend.  They provide bottomless cups of hot java (or put ice in the cup to make it cold), several varieties of organic tea punches, and good 'ole well water free of contaminants.  Faye also sets out cheese and crackers plus other tasty treats that she may come up with.  Guests are asked to bring a finger food to share with others.  This could be anything from mini sandwiches to olives/condiments to sweet treats.  You can choose to surprise other guests with your selection/recipe.  Tables will be provided in the dining room and the master bedroom.  Yes, this 'ole vintage home is just one room after another with no hallways and one Necessary Room.  That's the way they built them in the early 1900s!

How do you make reservations for this down-home show?  You just pick up the phone and call our landline, (903) 583-2661. If no one answers, it means we're outside on the mower or watering wildflowers. Just leave your name, the # of reservations desired, your contact info (email preferred, but a phone number will do).  Faye will check in with you ASAP and confirm that she has put you on the reservation list.  The requested donation for this artist is $25 per person.  If you make a reservation and find that you cannot make it, please notify us as soon as you know, so we can contact anyone on the waiting list who might be waiting for a cancellation.  Seating is limited to between 30-40 persons, depending on how cozy you want to be.  You'll still have some leg room to toe tap or enough room to chair dance.

Where is Wildscape Acres/Harmony House Concerts?  We're about 10 miles north of Bonham, TX, and 65 miles NE of the metroplex.  If you've been here before, you are probably already familiar with our county road.  Please ask for directions when making reservations, if this would keep you from wandering around on the many CRs in Fannin County.  Those making reservations will also receive a physical address to put into your GPS for an easy route. Also, we will have signs to lead the way, so you can follow the road, turn into our entrance and drive until you see the yellow house atop a hill surrounded by meadows, woodlands, and a pond.  Parking is north of the house near the orchard and what's left of last year's garden. You will be seeing the back of the house, as it faces east.  You can come in the back door and folks will greet you and direct you to the table where you pay for your reservations.  There will be a reservation list for you to check off your names.  The show is payable by cash or checks made to Scott Sean White.  Scott may have a Square for use in paying for any merch but, if not, bring an extra check/cash in your wallet.  You're going to want to take his music home with you if you have a CD player in your car or home (the old-fashioned way to listen to good music).

Scott Sean White is a touring singer-songwriter who has had several songs recorded by country superstar Cody Johnson -- two on Cody’s album Human -- including “God Bless the Boy” and “Made a Home,” and one called “Over Missing You” on Cody’s latest album, the deluxe version of Leather.  Scott plays 120-150 shows a year at house concerts and listening rooms all over the country, and has also had several songs recorded by Bryan Martin as well, including “Years in the Making,” “Poets and Old Souls,” and “Wishbone.”

Scott makes his home these days in Poetry, Texas, a perfectly named little town for a songwriter’s songwriter. His first album, Call It Even, came out in April 2021, and Jack Ingram said, “Some songwriters spend precious time struggling to find their truth and make it rhyme. Others just pick up their guitar and tell it. Scott Sean White is one of the others.” His second album, Even Better on the Bad Days, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Singer-songwriter chart in January 2024.

He is a storyteller, both in his songs, and the moments in between songs, laying out his life experience -- his faith and struggles -- and intertwining it all with his craft. His live show is starkly honest, transparent, and eye-opening -- full of laughter and probably a few (good) tears, too.

The reviews on his latest album have been stellar:

“. . . when I reviewed White’s 2021 debut I said it was a good bet for the album of the year lists. Well, history repeats itself now with this fine and at times deeply personal follow-up, Even Better on the Bad Days.” Mike Davies, Folking . com

“Powerful thinking and writing at its very best . . . a contender for album of the year.” Lesley Hastings, Country Lowdown

There isn’t a weak song in the bunch, not a sour note or blemish on a pear. The compositions have relevance. No filler. Great album, period.- John Apice, Americana Highways

“It’s as if Fred Eaglesmith and Jeff Black went out drinking together and stayed up all night talking, drinking sweet tea, and writing. Right? Vulnerable, gutsy, and intellectually sharp.” Marilyn Rea Beyer, host of Midnight Special, WFMT Chicago
