Fannin County, Texas -- A 20-year political vendetta apparently spearheaded by Lauri Blake, a former district judge who was recently admonished by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, and Richard Glaser, a former DA in Fannin County, may finally be over now that Dallas DA John Creuzot has filed a motion on June 13, 2025, to dismiss the final four criminal indictments in the Fannin County Courthouse restoration case due to insufficient evidence.

It is important to note that, even though Creuzot has filed a motion to dismiss, that decision won't be binding until it is signed off on by the presiding judge in the case, which might come as soon as Monday, June 16.

The judge has already concurred with Creuzot to dismiss indictments against architects David Chase and Anne Stimmel in this case. That ruling came May 25, 2025.

As recently as June 10, Blake, Glaser and their ally, Tom Turner, were in Fannin County Commissioners Court trying to prolong one of the darkest chapters in Fannin County history. And it may turn out to be a very costly chapter, too, if all six cases turn into countersuits against the county and individuals who perpetuated what now seems to have been a gross injustice.

It is noteworthy that it was Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot who advised the court to dismiss the criminal cases against all six defendants for lack of evidence, not the local political apparatus evidently put together by Blake and Glaser that has actively pursued all six indictments.
