Sherman, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced an upcoming ramp closure and detour for travelers in Sherman. On June 16, at 8:00 p.m. the westbound SH-91 traffic will be detoured onto the new pavement and will be able to continue on the southbound frontage road or access the entrance ramp to southbound US 75.

Southbound traffic wanting to access southbound US 75 will need to continue south, through Travis Street, Washington Street, Houston Street, and Lamar Street then take the next entrance ramp to southbound US 75. Motorists will continue to access SH-91 by taking Exit 60 for N. Travis Street/Taylor Street. Detour signs will be posted along the frontage road at N. Travis Street, Taylor Street, and N Loy Lake intersections.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to pay close attention to all traffic controls and remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
