Activities that the club is going to be participating in include the Bonham State Park event June 7, 2025, between 1000 and 1400 (10 a.m. until 2 p.m.) with demonstrations of making radio contacts and a “Parks On The Air” (POTA) activation. The annual Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day will be June 28 – 29, 2025 this year.
The club will be at the Bois d’Arc Creek Cowboy Church for this 24-hour event with the goal of making as many contacts as possible. Rules for this event can be found at the ARRL website. Members have a lot of fun working the airwaves, and non-members can experience the excitement with the “Get On The Air” with the club. As you can tell, the objective of getting “on the air” happens a lot with amateur radio operators, which is why we’re called “hams.”
The members will also support our neighboring Red River Valley ARC of Lamar County with the Tour de Paris Bike Rally in July.
Fannin County ARC has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm, and meets regularly on the third Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at the Bois d’Arc Creek Cowboy Church at 3301 SH 121 S, Bonham TX. Follow us on Facebook or our website at https://k5frc.org
