Denton, Texas -- Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Denton County will be hosting a county-wide Walk Across Texas! The program will begin on June 22 and will run through August 17.
What is Walk Across Texas?
Walk Across Texas! is a free, eight-week program for teams of up to eight coworkers, friends, and family all working together to reach the 832-mile goal to “walk” across Texas!
Walk Across Texas! is designed to encourage Texans of all fitness levels to develop a habit of regular physical activity in a fun and rewarding way. Teams compete to see who can log the most miles walking, jogging, biking, and swimming across Texas. Aerobics, dancing, cleaning house, gardening, or any form of exercise counts, too.
Each 20 minutes of exercise counts as one mile “walked” in our online system!
What’s in it for you?
You’ll benefit from an engaged team of friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors; a little friendly competition and (most importantly) a healthier lifestyle! Additionally, weekly newsletters will be sent via email with current standings, healthy tips and tidbits, recipes, and more!
All of this is COMPLETELY FREE (no, there’s not a catch)!!
