Fannin County, Texas -- In much the same way that the columns directly behind them help support the 1888 Fannin County Courthouse, these are some of the bright, young faces who are stepping up to support the agricultural heritage that is woven into the fabric of rural North Texas.
Representatives of all the FFA programs and 4-H clubs in Fannin County gathered on the courthouse steps April 25, 2025, to accept a $25,000 donation from Fannin Agricultural Association, Inc. The money was raised at the 2025 Steaks on Main Ribeye Cook-off, dinner and concert and will be divided equally among the youth organizations.
This event has it all. In the cook-off portion, some of the region's best grilling teams face off against each other in a friendly competition with a hefty $5,000 on the line.
After the winners on the cook-off are announced, more than 1,200 ribeyes hit the grills set up around the courthouse and the community gathers to visit and enjoy a great steak dinner.
And any special evening in an historic Texas town deserves some original Texas music. In the three years this event has been held, Fannin Agricultural Association has brought Texas music stars Jason Boland (2023), Cody Canada (2024) and Cory Morrow (2025) to town.
Maybe best of all, Steaks on Main is a great time for a worthy cause. Fannin Agricultural Association, Inc. has donated a total of $81,000 to Fannin County FFA and 4-H programs over the past three years.
So go ahead and circle April 11, 2026 on your calendar because that's the day Fannin Agricultural Association will be circling the wagons and welcoming the community to the fourth annual Steaks on Main Ribeye Cook-off dinner and concert.
