Grayson County, Texas -- Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a project to improve a portion of US 82 in Grayson County was set to begin September 12.

Overland Corporation, Ardmore, Oklahoma was granted 94 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $10.5 million. The target completion date for this project is April 2024, officials said.

The contractor will perform spot base repairs and apply a new pavement overlay on US 82 from Baker Drive in Sherman to the Fannin County line. This work will require daytime lane closures while this work is underway, officials said.

Motorists who travel frequently in these areas are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
