Fannin County, Texas -- Beginning Tuesday, October 1, 2024, three brand new ambulances will be available to provide emergency medical service in Fannin County. Overall this will increase the number of ambulances available to the public.

Allegiance ambulances

Allegiance, a commercial entity under contract to the County, will be responsible for the management and operation of the three new ambulances and crews. This service will be supplemental to emergency medical service presently provided by the Bonham City Fire Department.

Beginning Tuesday, October 1, the Bonham Fire Department will begin focusing on providing emergency medical service in the Bonham Fire District, which includes the City of Bonham.

Allegiance, on the other hand, will focus on providing emergency medical service in the remainder of the County. A Mutual Aid Agreement between Allegiance and the City of Bonham is being implemented. This will allow the two entities to work together and share resources. Initially, the three new ambulances will be based in Honey Grove, Leonard and Ector. Locations may change and ambulances may be added, based on call volume.

Emergency medical service will be provided 24/7 throughout the County. As in the past, persons needing emergency medical service need only call 911.
