Musician, author, producer
to play at Harmony House Concerts
Fannin County, Texas -- You are invited to join us on Sunday, September 15, '24, 3:00-5:00 p.m., to chill out on the remarkable tunes of this ‘bluesy’ guy from Durham, NC. In 2019, Jon Shain won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, in the solo/duo category. (More about Shain below.)
Please mark the date on your calendar and call 903-583-2661 (a landline ... no texts) to make reservations. Reservations are $25 per person. If you must cancel, please do so in a timely manner. No-Shows are a No-No! If you need directions, please indicate this when leaving your reservation request. Start by leaving your name, how many reservations you need (seating is limited to about 40 persons), and your contact info (preferably, your email address or phone number). Faye, one of your hosts, will get back to you soon. You may pay by cash or check made payable to Jon Shain at the reservation check-in table room on the day of the concert. All reservation money goes to the artist.
If you have been to Harmony House Concerts before, then you know that you can expect only the ‘best’ in various genres. We've been hosting house concerts for over 20 years so, luckily, we've gotten well connected. If you've never been here, know you’ve been missing out!All concerts are casual, and guests are friendly.
Harmony House Concerts meets in our reclaimed vintage home -- located in a natural setting with lots of ambiance on Wildscape Acres -- about 10 miles north of Bonham, TX, and about 65 miles NE of the Dallas metroplex. All concerts meet inside the house, but the entire house is used -- seating in the living room and dining room; bottomless cups of java in the kitchen; various types of tea punches and well water in the breakfast room; and other yummy treats on tables in the dining room and the master bedroom. Guests are requested to bring a finger food of some kind to share with other guests. The more variation, the more delicious! Please furnish your own serving pieces and take home any leftovers as our fridge is small.
We (Faye and Scott) will be your hosts. Coffee, punches, well water (no chemicals added) and cheese and crackers will be provided by us. We also provide napkins and plates. If you feel inclined to leave a $1 cash donation to help defray our costs, there will be a plate provided for that in the breakfast room.
Jon will play two sets of 45-minutes each. There will be a 30-minute intermission between sets for grazing at the tables laden with treats, for getting to know Jon and possibly purchasing product from him, for visiting the necessary room (you can do this between songs as well), and/or for going outside for a walk or a swing. Feel free to water any flowers that look wilted as well.
