Durant, Oklahoma -- The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, January 19, in Durant for a multi-family apartment complex near the Choctaw Nation headquarters and Choctaw Casino & Resort.

The development named ‘The Haven’ consists of six, three-story apartment buildings that will make up 216 units. The project also includes amenities such as a clubhouse, playground, outdoor pool and more.

The Haven, approved by the Choctaw Tribal Council in May of 2022, aims to address the rental housing demand in the Bryan County area and is slated to be complete June 2024.

The apartment complex is being built on a parcel of 116 acres with plans of adding up to 1,000 total units, an additional clubhouse and pool, and possible single-family housing in future phases.

The Haven is one of three multi-family housing developments to be built in the Choctaw Territory.
