At the beginning of this year, the McKinney Fire Department administered more than 50,000 vaccines to the community when doses were in short supply, and the State needed assistance getting vaccinations out efficiently and quickly.

Now that vaccines are more plentiful and easily assessable, the city does not have plans to reopen a vaccination hub to give booster shots.

Below is some info we will be sharing during the next several weeks to let people know they need to seek out alternative locations to receive booster shots.

Booster shots

The City of McKinney and the McKinney Fire Department do not currently have plans to reopen a vaccination hub to give booster shots since private health care providers like physicians, hospitals, and pharmacies have vaccines readily available. Please note the date of your second dose of the vaccine and plan to receive your booster shot eight months later.

Lost vaccination cards

The City of McKinney operated its vaccination hub for a limited time in coordination with Collin County and the State of Texas. If you received your COVID-19 vaccination through the City of McKinney vaccination hub, please contact the Collin County Health Department or your primary care physician to obtain a copy of your vaccination record.
