Fannin County Hospital Authority awards over $420,000 in grants to local nonprofits

The Fannin County Hospital Authority awarded $421,500 in grant funds to 17 local nonprofits.

Organizations that received grants include Fannin County Children’s Center ($40,000), Fannin County Family Crisis Center ($4,500), Fannin County Juvenile Services ($50,000), Fannin Health Clinic ($10,000), Greater Texoma Health Clinic ($20,000), Austin College ($2,000), Child & Family Guidance Center (up to $40,000), Divine Equine Therapeutic Riding Center ($50,000), Geary Girls Ranch ($25,000), Grant Halliburton Foundation ($25,000), Home Hospice ($5,000), House of Eli ($10,000), J127 Ministry ($15,000), Making Dreams Real, Inc. dba Discover New Directions ($10,000), Southwestern Diabetic Foundation -Camp Sweeney ($5,000), Your Health Clinic dba Callie Clinic ($10,000), and Texoma Community Center - Bonham (up to $100,000 upon approval of submitted plan for expansion of services in Fannin County).

Divine Equine Therapeutic Riding Center offers a variety of services for Disabled Veterans of all ages and abilities, all free of charge. Helping our heroes struggling to cope with PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries, combat injuries, mental health challenges and other visible and invisible wounds of war.

The purpose of the Fannin County Hospital Authority is to support the health and well-being of the residents of Fannin County with a priority given to programs and projects that focus on mental health and wellness, as well as access to care. Organizations that are physically providing services within Fannin County receive priority.

The Fannin County Hospital Authority partnered with the Texoma Health Foundation to provide nonprofit organizations that serve Fannin County the opportunity to submit a joint application for this year’s grant cycle.
