Leonard teams fall in day two of hometown tourney

Both Leonard teams fell victim to shooters with a hot hand in day two of the Leonard Holiday Tournament.
The North Hopkins Lady Panthers collected 32 points from 5'11" post Katie Williams and 23 points by Sara Weir on their way to a 65-42 victory over the Leonard Tigerettes early Tuesday morning.
Amanda Meares had 14 points for Leonard, followed by Holly Henderson (12 pts.), Courtney Williams (9 pts.), Macy Boggs (4 pts.), Meg Driscoll (2 pts.) and Ashley Winkler (1 pt.).
The Leonard Tigers fell to a talented Scurry-Rosser squad 45-35. Phillip Burley, the Wildcats' 6'5" post, dropped in 20 points to lead all scorers. Teammates Justin Braudrick and D'Marcus Lang chipped in 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Leonard boys got eight points each by Evan Gentry and Lionel Bayiha, Derek Stanley scored seven, Kail Krider finished with five points, Ben Edwards added four points and Brett Harvey had three points.
