Sherman -- Volunteers and donors from Grayson, Fannin, and Cooke counties were recently honored with a dinner given by Mental Health Mental Retardation Services of Texoma at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sherman. The top honorees were Harold Wright, Grayson County; Wanda Sherman Cooke County; Fannin County Crisis Center employees-Debbie Freeman, Pamela Jaimes, Barbara Parks, Carol Pillars, and Becky Williams, Fannin County; and Kate Whitfield, WE HELP OURSELVES (WHO) program.
"The volunteers that support MHMR Services of Texoma not only raise funds and help reduce the cost of services for persons with mental impairments, but bring a quality of care that can come only from people who give of themselves without expecting anything in return. We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers that have been with us for many years," states Tony Maddox, Executive Director.
The theme was Volunteers: Making a Better Tomorrow Today. Tori Pollaro and Gracie Brown of Denison provided entertainment.
