Paris, Texas -- Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that traffic signals on a portion of State Highway 91 and US 69 in Grayson County will be upgraded beginning Nov. 11.

Contractor North Texas Traffic Systems Construction, Bonham, Texas, was granted 60 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $235,000.

The contractor will upgrade and interconnect traffic signals on State Highway 91 at Woodlake Road, and US 69 at Spur 503.

This project will require occasional daytime lane closures while construction is underway, so motorists are urged to use alternate routes wherever possible, officials said.

Motorists who frequently travel in these areas are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
