Hallsville, Texas -- An estate-planning program featuring Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture law specialist Tiffany Dowell Lashmet will be held Jan. 31 in Hallsville.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Gold Hall, 101 E. Elm St. Pinto beans and cornbread will be served by Harrison County Farm Bureau. Please RSVP to 903-935-8413.

The program will cover the importance of a living will, successfully transitioning farm and ranch operations, and planning ahead for other end-of-life decisions.

“Estate planning is one of those things a lot of farmers, ranchers and landowners don’t consider until it’s too late,” said Matt Garrett, AgriLife Extension agent, Harrison County. “It’s a difficult subject to approach, but it will clear up a lot of things that can be problematic and traumatic for families after a loved one passes.”
