Blue Ridge -- The Honey Grove Lady Warriors suffered their first District 13-2A District loss with a 16-point loss to the Blue Ridge Lady Tigers.

Blue Ridge set the tone early with a 21-9 lead at the first buzzer, however it was Honey Grove with a strong second quarter to tie the game, 28-28, at the half.

Blue Ridge had the upper hand in the final two periods, outscoring Honey Grove 40-24 to post a 68-52 win.

Makiyah Johnson led Honey Grove with 20 points, Diavian Shaw scored 13, Alexandra Morrison put up eight points, Zakia Smith had six points, Demetria Pruitt had three points and Isabella Morrison tossed in two points.

Blue Ridge's Shelby Gerner led all scorers with 25 points and Skylar Gerner was close behind with 23 points. Madeline Foor finished with 10 points, Cierra Spurgin scored six and Ellery Martin put up four points.

The Lady Warriors fall to 9-1 in district and 22-12 on the season.
