Dallas, Texas – Bruce Wood Dance launches into Year 8 with performances in New York City, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and Big Spring, Texas. Following in the footsteps of late founder Bruce Wood® (1960-2014), Artistic Director Kimi Nikaidoh embraces opportunities to collaborate, educate, and increase accessibility. She curates programming that entertains, enriches, and heals by restaging works from Wood’s acclaimed repertoire, commissioning new works by other nationally recognized choreographers like Bryan Arias (2017 Princess Grace awardee) and Katarzyna Skarpetowka (2017 Bessie nominated dancemaker), and offering opportunities to emerging choreographers from within the company.
Topping the list are: a performance at Women in Dance Leadership Conference at Danspace in New York City; collaborative programs in Dallas and Houston, featuring a world premiere by Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director, Bridget L. Moore; and a 2-day residency in Big Spring, Texas known as the Gateway to West Texas. For more information, www.brucewooddance.org.
