You may qualify for a Ballot by Mail if the reason for voting by mail is: 1) 65 years of age or older; 2) Disability; 3) Expected absence from the county; or 4) Confinement in jail.

Voters who are 65 years of age or older or are disabled qualify to apply for an Annual Application for Ballot by Mail. Choosing the “Annual Application” option ensures that the voter will receive a mail ballot for all elections held during a calendar year. Annual Ballot By Mail Applications may be submitted starting the first day of a calendar year (January 1) and not later than the 11th day before Election Day and expire on December 31 of the year in which it was submitted.

Voters who do not qualify to submit an Annual Ballot by Mail may submit an application for a single election starting the first day of the calendar year (January 1) and not later than the 11th day before Election Day. If the 11th day is a weekend or holiday, the deadline is the first preceding business day.

You can request or download an application from: 1) The Secretary of State’s Office; or 2) The Early Voting Clerk in your county at 903-583-7488 or come by 800 E. 2nd Street in Bonham.

Applications to vote by mail must be submitted by mail, common or contract carrier, fax or email to the Early Voting Clerk in the county where you are registered to vote. If a voter submits an application for a Ballot by Mail via fax or e-mail, the early voting clerk must receive a copy via mail within 4 business days of the submission of the fax or e-mail.
