Bonham, Texas -- Funeral services for Terry "Popa" Erven, 65, of Bonham, Texas will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Seventh and Main Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be Cody Nelson. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Ivanhoe, Texas. Terry passed away on December 2, 2017. He was born April 21, 1952 in Pickstown, South Dakota to Laurence Erven and Patricia Flaherty. He married Joann Marie Stephens on February 17, 1978 in Bonham, Texas.

Terry was a US Navy Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal. He enjoyed watching grandchildren's activities and sporting events and coaching girls’ softball and enjoyed trail rides and working with his horse "Bullseye", working on cars and fishing.    He was a Master Electrician and a Master Boiler Technician as well.  He was an employee for General Cable in Bonham and was currently employed at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison as a Master Electrician.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence Erven & Patricia Ann Flaherty Erven, and brother Bobby Erven and sister Sally Erven.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Joann Marie Erven; daughters, Gina Groover and husband Kyle, Taree Wilson and husband Quincy and Sammi Costa and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Britney Selph and husband Jeff Selph, Taylor Groover, Tanner Groover, Sloan Wilson, Reese Wilson, Joseph Costa Jr., Annalyn Stafford, Piper Stafford, JoJo Stafford and Max Costa; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Selph and Huxley Selph; sisters, Kathy Steck and Peggy Erven; brothers, Danny Erven, Johnny Erven, Ricky Erven, Billy Erven, Eddie Erven and Tommy Erven. Other surviving family include, Numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Groover, Quincy Wilson, Joseph Costa, Tanner Groover, Ryan Taylor, and Matt Stephens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Stephens, Terrance Steck, John Cole Stephens, Jake Stephens, Clay Stephens, Jessie Stephens, Jeremy Johnson, Ben Stephens, and Max Costa
