Texas Fish & Game magazine recently named Russell Graves of Childress, Texas Outdoor Photography Editor.  Starting with the September 2004 issue, Graves will write a monthly column aimed at making the magazine’s readers better photographers.  “I hope to present the magazine’s readers with a simplistic approach of how to photograph the Texas outdoors,” says Graves.  “My column will be a mix of how-to pieces, sprinkled with destination and equipment review features.”  Graves, a native of Dodd City, Texas, is a ten-year veteran of the outdoor magazine industry and brings a wealth of experience to the post.

“Russell's work as a photographer made it clear he knows his way around a camera,” says Don Zaidle, Texas Fish & Game managing editor.  “Combined with his abilities as a writer, he is a natural for our Outdoor Photographer Editor.”

A native of Dodd City, Texas, Graves is an award-winning photographer, manages a constantly growing file of agriculture, hunting, fishing, and wildlife related images as a part of his business.  Currently, his files hold in excess of 40,000 images – virtually all of them shot in Texas.  Some of his work is highlighted at http://www.russellgraves.com/.

In addition to his photography, Russell is also in demand for his writing and public speaking and is the author of four book titles currently in print and serves as the executive editor of TexasOutdoorsman.com.  Graves’ corporate clients include Syngenta Crop Protection and Gander Mountain outdoor retail stores and he does extensive editorial work for clients such as Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine and Outdoor Life.
