CENTRAL
Arcadia: April 16. The lake elevation is above average with temps around 65 and clearing water. Largemouth Bass are fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in the flats and standing timber. White Bass are good on inline spinnerbait and jigs along the riprap. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows at the docks and riprap. Submitted by Mark Murray.
Hefner: April 18. The lake elevation is above average with temps around 64-66 and murky water. Largemouth Bass are good on crankbaits, jigs and spinnerbaits along coves and shoreline. White and Hybrid Bass are fair on lipless baits and gay blades at the docks and riprap. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows at the docks and riprap. Submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.
Overholser:April 17. The lake elevation is rising and the water is murky to muddy. Hybrid and white bass are good on chicken liver, crawfish, cut bait, jigs, shrimp and worms at the dam, main lake, points and shorelines. Catfish are fair on cut bait and live bait in the main lake, points and shorelines. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows in the creek channels, rocks, shallows and the canal just off the rocks. Catfish are being caught by floating the bait under a balloon out into the lake some striped bass hybrids are also being caught this way. Striped bass hybrids are being caught by fishing on bottom with bait and also casting jigs mainly with white and chartreuse in color along windy point and shorelines. They are also being caught off the dam on a north wind usually by floating the bait under a cork. Crappie are being caught in the shallows usually just off the rocks using minnows and jigs. Some fish are being caught in the discharge using a variety of baits. Fishing seems to vary from day to day depending on the weather and other factors. Submitted by Vince Mesis.
Wes Watkins: April 18. The lake elevation is below average and the water is muddy. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows in the shallows and 3-4 feet deep. Catfish are slow on cut bait and punch bait in brush structure and riprap. Submitted by Mike France.
NORTHEAST
Bell Cow: April 23. The lake elevation is above average and the water is muddy. White bass are slow on inline spinnerbait and minnows along the riprap. Catfish are slow on stinkbait at the shallows and shoreline. Submitted by Gary Emmons.
Birch: April 24. The lake elevation is dropping, the water temp is 70s and the water is murky. Catfish, channel, bass, largemouth, crappie, white are fair on minnows, worms along the coves and discharge. Hybrid are fair on live shad and spinnerbaits in the main lake and along the dam. The lake is flooded so all the docks have been closed off. The Corps of Engineers says they are releasing enough water to drop the lake a foot a day and right now it's 5 1/2 foot high. With the cold weather and rain I was only able to talk to a couple anglers. One was fishing from the shoreline and was catching channel cat off minnows. They caught a couple largemouth bass and crappie by accident. A couple of boats were catching hybrids off the face of the dam in main body of the lake. Other anglers I asked had nothing to say. Carl Blackwell: April 24. The lake elevation is rising and the water temp in 66. Water clarity is muddy. White bass are good on jigs along the shorelines and 4-6 ft deep. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows at the docks, shorelines and 7-10 ft deep. Catfish and channel are good on chicken liver and worms along brush structures and shorelines. Some people are catching saugeye while crappie fishing. Fishing has been varied day to day due to changing weather conditions. Submitted by Emily Long.
Chandler: April 23. The lake elevation is above average and water clarity is muddy. Catfish are slow on minnows at the docks. Largemouth are fair on sassy shad, spinnerbaits and swimbaits. Submitted by Gary Emmons.
Copan: April 23. The lake elevation is dropping and water clarity is muddy. Crappie are slow on jigs and minnows along brush structures. Catfish are slow on chicken liver and worms below the dam. Submitted by Joe Alexander.
Eucha: April 24. The lake elevation is normal, water temps are low 60s and the water clarity is stained. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits, jigs and spinnerbaits along brush structures, riprap, shallows and weed beds. Crappie are good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows along brush structure, docks, shallows and shorelines. Catfish are fair on chicken liver, shad stinkbait and worms along the channels and riprap. Ft. Gibson: April 23. The lake elevation is rising, water temps are 65 and water clarity is stained. Catfish are good on live shad and slabs in the creek channels, river channel and Chouteau Bend to low water. All other fishing is slow due to rising waters.Submitted by Rick Stafford in Wagoner.
Grand: April 18. The lake elevation is rising, temps are 60 and water clarity is murky. Crappie are good on jigs, plastics and sassy shad along brush structures, coves, shallows and shorelines. Greenleaf: April 18. The lake elevation is normal and water temps are 69. Largemouth bass are good on bill baits, buzz baits, jerk baits and chatter bait spinner bait soft jerk bait. Crappie are good on grubs, hair jigs, jigs, minnows and tube jigs along brush structures, coves, creek channels, shallows, shorelines and weed beds. Hudson: April 23. The lake elevation is rising, water temps are 60s and the water clarity is muddy. Largemouth bass are fair on jerk bait, jigs, plastics and spinnerbaits at the points, shallows and shorelines. Crappie are slow on jigs and minnows below the dam, brush structures and the docks. Hulah: April 23. The lake elevation is above average with clarity being murky. Crappie are slow on jigs and minnows along brush structures. Catfish are slow on chicken liver and shad below the dam. Submitted by Joe Alexander.
Kaw: April 18. The lake elevation is rising, with water temps 60 and water clarity murky. White bass are good on inline spinnerbaits, jigs, sassy shads and small lures at the inlet. Crappie are good on jigs, minnows and tube jigs along brush structure, coves, creek channels and riprap. Paddlefish are fair snagging in the tailwater.Crappie fishing is picking up in the pre-spawn areas. Paddlefish snagging below the dam has slowed with the closing of flood gates. Blue catfish good in the upper portions of the lake on worms and fresh cut bait. Good numbers of white bass are still being caught in the creeks and traditional spawning areas. Submitted by Larry A. Keystone: April 17. The lake elevation is rising, water temps are 58 and the water clarity is muddy. LArgemouth bass are good on plastics along the shorelines. Bass good 2-4 ft on Carolina-rigged plastics baits. All other fishing slow. Submitted by Karlin Bailey.
Lower Illinois: April 23.. The lake elevation is normal, water temps are 65 and water clarity is clear. Rainbow trout are good on inline spinnerbait, jigs, midges, nymphs, powerbait and worms below the dam, channels, creek channels, tailwater and Watts WMU. Striped bass are slow on crankbaits and live shad at the mouth of the river near the Arkansas. Stripers still aren't in the river very well. Oologah: April 17. The lake elevation is above average, water temps are 60 and the water clarity is murky. Catfish are fair on cut bait and shad below the dam. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows along brush structure. Largemouth bass are fair on plastics along brush structure. Bass and crappies around flooded structure. Skiatook April 24. The lake elevation is above average, water temps are 60s and water clarity is muddy. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits, plastics and spinnerbaits along coves and shorelines. White bass are slow on inline spinnerbait, jigs and sassy shad along creek channels, riprap and running up the creeks. Catfish are fair on chicken liver and cut bait in the creek channels. Tenkiller: April 16. The lake elevation is below average, water temps are 64 and water clarity is clear.
