DALLAS, TX — Are you ready, True Believers? This New Year's Eve, make mine Marvelous. Ring in 2017 with comic legend Stan Lee, the voice cast of Animaniacs, actor Michael Rooker and so many more geek-tastic guests at Marvelous Nerd Year's Eve, held December 29 – January 1 at the Sheraton Dallas.

The four-day event is packed with something to appeal to just about any pop culture junkie, featuring more than two dozen celebrity guests, artists and authors from comics, books, TV, movies and even three rooms fully dedicated to community-driven programming.

Marvel mainstay Stan Lee will wrap up his final year of traveling convention appearances at the event, capping off a storied career as one of the most prominent faces of Marvel Comics.

"You simply don’t get more iconic than Stan Lee," says Geek Expos entertainment director Devin Pike. "When we were looking into putting a New Year’s Eve show together, the opportunity came up to host Stan at his ‘last hurrah’ in America. That was when we knew this was going to be a legendary weekend."

For anyone wanting to mark the occasion with a genuine article Stan Lee signature, Certified Guaranty Company will be on hand to provide official certificates of authenticity.

In addition to honoring Lee, there will be a celebration of the voice cast of WB's wacky animated variety show, Animaniacs, honoring Rob Paulsen, Tress MacNeille Jess Harnell and Maurice LaMarche.

Other celebrity guests include Michael Rooker (“Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy,” AMC’s
“The Walking Dead”), Ming Chen and Bryan Johnson from AMC's "COMIC BOOK MEN"; Richard Harmon, Lindsey Morgan and Sachin Sahel from the CW's "THE 100'; Sylvester McCoy ("Doctor Who," "The Hobbit"); Glenn Morshower ("24," "Supergirl," "Bloodline"); Cas Anvar
("Assassin's Creed," "Expanse," "Olympus"); and visual effects guru Adam Howard.

But it's not just all fun, games and photo ops. There will also be classroom environments set up to allow attendees to learn alongside successful entertainment industry pros. David Gerrold (Hugo-winning author of classic Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles") will be passing on his knowledge along with other published authors in a series of professional writing classes, and a crew of FX specialists led by Heather Henry (Syfy's "Face Off") will be on the schedule teaching the ins and outs of special effects.

“It’s not enough to just have photo ops, autograph lines and stuff to buy. That’s all fine, but Marvelous Nerd Year’s Eve is about the whole geek community experience, whether that means meeting a new group of friends based on your particular fandom, or ratcheting up your skills as a writer, cosplayer or actor. Geek Expos has a phrase that I love: ‘building a better geek.’ I’m proud to bring that ethos to a Dallas show,” Pike says.

For geeks looking to let go of post-holiday stress, after-hours at the con will feature a different high-energy party each night, capped off with a New Year's Eve blowout with four party zones and plenty of bubbly on hand for the over-21 crowd.

Tickets for Marvelous Nerd Year's Eve go on sale on Friday, August 26 at noon CST. Four-day general admission passes start at $95 through October 15, providing access to the show floor all sessions, and evening parties December 29, 30 and January 1.

For nerds who want to tack on the New Year's Eve party, there are add-ons available — $20 for the general admission party and $75 for access to the VIP party. Both add-on packages include a champagne toast at midnight.

Value-packed four-day VIP passes are also available for $295, which include one celebrity photo op and autograph, access and drink tickets to the Sector 37 Lounge and access to the VIP New Year's Eve party.
