Bonham -- The Bonham Warriors stayed within striking distance into the middle of the second period before the Krum Bobcats began pulling away for a 42-13 win on the road Thursday night in the final football game of the year at Warrior Stadium.

Krum received the opening kickoff, quickly moved deep into Warrior territory on a long pass and then Brandon Reeves went in from eight yards out to give the Bobcats a 7-0 lead with 10:14 remaining in the first quarter.

Krum's defense refused to give ground in the early action, but Bonham's defense kept the Warriors close. Josh Easley raced in to sack the Bobcat quarterback to thwart one drive and a fumble recover by Easley stopped the next Krum drive, as well. The Warriors trailed, 7-0, at the first buzzer, as Bonham looked for a couple of big plays to turn the game around.

Unfortunately, all the big plays in the second period belonged to the Bobcats. Knight Haedon had a 14-yard TD run, a pick six stretched the lead to 21-0 and Bobcat quarterback Colton Graham got loose on a keeper that went 29 yards to pay dirt as Krum surged in front, 28-0, at intermission.

It was more of the same in the second half, with Graham throwing for one touchdown and running for his second TD to make the score 42-0 going into the fourth quarter.

Bonham had four long completions from Kyle Copeland to Corey Smallwood in the second half, including a 60-yard touchdown that came on a deflected pass that Smallwood grabbed and raced in for the score.

Another long pass to Smallwood set up a one-yard touchdown run by Austin Simmerman, resulting in the final score of 42-13.

Krum (3-1) will close out district next week at Celina (4-0), while Bonham travels to Bridgeport.
