Quinn gained international fame as member of the 2014 U.S. Olympic bobsled team

The exhibit at MPAC, 111 N. Tennessee St., is free and open to the public starting today and ending Sunday, Aug. 10. It will feature Quinn’s Opening Ceremony uniform designed by Ralph Lauren, Team U.S.A Olympic clothing, bobsled uniform, helmet and cleats, as well as assorted memorabilia from his trip to the Olympics. Hours for the exhibit vary, and guests are encouraged to call 972-547-2650 prior to their visit. The exhibit is presented with support from Belk Department store in McKinney. 

Quinn will sign autographs at a meet-and-greet reception from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 in the Gallery of MPAC. Light refreshments will be served. The meet-and-greet event is also free and open to the public. 

“We are excited to honor Johnny for working so hard to achieve his Olympic dreams and for representing McKinney and the U.S. so well in Sochi. We are very proud of him,” said Amy Rosenthal, Director of MPAC and McKinney Main Street.  

Quinn moved to McKinney was he was 6 years old and was a standout football player at McKinney High School before signing a football scholarship to the University of North Texas. After a stint in professional football, Quinn was selected as an elite member of the U.S. bobsled team. During his time in Sochi, he received international acclaim for breaking through a bathroom door. Quinn recently served as the Grand Marshall of the Red, White and BOOM! parade and received a key to the city from Mayor Brian Loughmiller.
