DENISON, Texas — Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site, a Texas Historical Commission property will take part in the 2014 Bonham Quilt Hop, Friday, July 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sam Rayburn House Museum at 890 W. State Hwy 56 in Bonham, Texas 75418.

The Eisenhower quilt, which has not been on display for more than two years, will be part of the quilt display at the Sam Rayburn House Museum in Bonham, Texas. The Eisenhower quilt was pieced together by the Eisenhower siblings and was sewn by Dwight D. Eisenhower’s mother, Ida.

Museum staff will provide free, themed tours of the home with special attention to the quilts on display throughout the house.
Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site, a Texas Historical Commission property, showcases the modest one-and-a-half-story home where the 34th U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower entered the world in 1890. Family photographs and “Ike” memorabilia fill the visitor center and help tell the real story of the famed WWII General’s life and career.
