$1.2 billion signature development is largest residential community in west Prosper

PROSPER—June 26, 2014 -- The first phase of Windsong Ranch, the highly anticipated $1.2 billion master-planned community in Prosper, Texas is opening this week.  The 2,030-acre master-planned development is 2.5 miles west of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Highway 380.   

“The timing for the opening of Windsong Ranch couldn’t be better,” said Craig Martin, Founding Partner of Terra Verde Group, the developer of the community.  “With the explosive growth in the City of Prosper and a continued record number of single family permits, we are at the forefront of the expansion west of the Tollway.  Not only are we the largest residential community in Prosper but we are offering the ultimate in a family-friendly lifestyle that is redefining how master-planned communities are developed.” 

Members of the Prosper Chamber of Commerce, Prosper City Council and Terra Verde Group cut the ribbon on the new $1.2 billion Windsong Ranch.

Proper is expecting at least 34 percent growth by 2016, most of it positioned around the Tollway/380 interchange.  Windsong Ranch is the first of several commercial and residential projects to open on the west side of town.  Builders Highland Homes, Drees Custom Homes and Darling Homes have homes available from the mid $300s to $500s.  Model homes by builders Huntington Homes, David Weekley Homes and Chesmar Homes will be open Fall 2014.   

“Several of our builders are introducing new home designs just for Windsong Ranch,” said Martin.  “They have a long interest list and have been working with many buyers for the last few months narrowing down floor plans as they finalize their home line-ups and pricing.” 

The Windsong Ranch Amenity Center, called The Commons, has a resort-style feel and uses a material palette of locally quarried natural limestone, Brazilian Ipe wood siding, steel, glass and metal.

Events scheduled for the Saturday, June 28 opening of Windsong Ranch include the chance to win a resort family vacation for four, free giveaways, a backyard barbecue at The Commons starting at 4 pm and the Family Dive-in Movie at 8 pm at the Windsong pool featuring Disney’s Frozen.  Burgers, sno-cones and popcorn will also be served.
