Famed handbell ensemble give free concert Saturday in Paris

Cast of Bronze, a community handbell ensemble from Dallas, Texas, will be performing their annual summer concert tour with its second stop of the tour at First Christian Church Saturday night in Paris, Texas. This year’s program entitled Figaro features musical classics from Mozart, Saint Saens, Rossini and original handbell compositions by William Payn, Arnold Sherman, Cathy Moklebust and many others. Cast of Bronze will also play some marches, patriotic tunes and other handbell favorites.

Come and join us for a fun-filled informal and interactive concert that is free and open to the public. Come see and hear the largest handbells ever manufactured. Following the concert, members of the audience will be invited to come and ring bells or chimes and ask questions of the ringers and director.

Cast of Bronze performs on 318 handbells and chimes including: 7 octaves of American made Schulmerich handbells, 6 octaves of Malmark Choir Chimes, 5 octaves of English made Whitechapel handbells, 3 octaves of Dutch made Petit and Fritzen handbells and 2.5 octaves of DeskSet bells.

Renowned for their musicianship and technical prowess, Cast of Bronze has delighted audiences in concerts throughout Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and Texas. They performed in 11 concerts with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, been a featured performing ensemble for the Handbell Musicians of America National Seminar, Plano Civic Chorus, Dallas Women’s  Chorus, American Guild of Organists, members of the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra and  have commissioned advanced music for handbells. Cast of Bronze released their first CD titled “Opening Night”.
