Bonham -- It is a rite of passage it towns everywhere this time of year and in Bonham, one of the oldest towns in Texas, Bonham High School held its 121st Commencement Friday, June 7 in front of a large audience of family and friends of this year's graduating class.
Bonham High School principal David Ketcher welcomed the crowd and introduced the top three graduates for the 2013-2014 school year: Daisy Montano, valedictorian; Katie Barber, salutatorian; and Jordan Speck, third high.
Valedictorian Daisy Montano began her speech by paying homage to Larry Page and Sergey Brin, founders of Google, which is a great aid in research.
"Although Google is very helpful, it will not tell us where we go from here," Montane told her classmates. "Things will get harder from here -- we've only done the easy part -- but things will also get a lot more fun. You are off to great places; today is your day.
Mr. Ketcher certified that the 2013-2014 graduates had completed all requirements. Diplomas were then awarded, followed by graduates tossing caps in the air to close the ceremony.
