Inaugural Craft Brew and Que Festival comes to Little Elm

Craft beers, BBQ samplings available Saturday, June 14

Little Elm -- Enjoying a worldwide resurgence, the art of brewing craft beer in small batches and competing for public appreciation is coming to Little Elm during the inaugural Brew and Que Festival, Saturday, June 14 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., says Festival and Special Events Coordinator Megan McGraw.

“The festival is a first for North Texas,” she said. “We’ve designed it to capture the essence of the all-American afternoon at the lake – brews, barbeque, live music and fun. What’s not to love?”

Set for Little Elm Park on the shores of Lake Lewisville, 701 West Eldorado Parkway, the festival will also include a family-friendly environment, allowing fun for all ages.

“We will have over 30 brewers present their best beers,” she added. “They’ll come from all over the North Texas region, showcasing their premium draughts. We’ll also be able to sample national and international brews, represented by larger local distributors.”

In addition, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.
Also invited are a number of traditional and exotic barbeque vendors, offering sampling portions at affordable prices. The variety of barbeque styles will include various Asian-inspired dishes along with the more traditional Texas-based barbeque offerings.

“If you’re going to have a brew and barbeque event, you’ve got to have live music,” stated McGraw. Attendees can enjoy live music by “Rodney Parker and 50 Peso Reward,” “The O’s,” and “Green Light Pistol.”

Entry to the Little Elm Craft Brew and Que is free. However, the beer, wine, drinks and barbeque will be sold at a festival discount.

Alcohol can only be consumed on the premises and adequate photo identification proving appropriate drinking age will be required to purchase beer or wine.

ABOUT LITTLE ELM – Little Elm is one of the state’s fastest growing communities. Nestled on the shores of Lake Lewisville, the Town was incorporated in 1966, adopting the Council/Manager form of government. The population increased dramatically over the last several years, growing from under 4,000 in 2000 to over 30,000 today.
