SHERMAN, Texas -- The Sherman Museum announced that it will sponsor a one-day bus tour of Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas on Thursday, June 19. The cost of the tour is $110 per person and includes motor coach transportation, driver’s gratuity, snacks and drinks on the coach, lunch at the Riverhouse Grill and entrance fees. The visit will kick off the museum’s DINO DAYS 2014 special exhibition scheduled to start on June 24.

A chartered bus will transport the group to Glen Rose and will depart the Albertson’s parking lot in Sherman at 8:00 a.m. on June 19. The first stop will be at the Dinosaur Valley State Park, where the group will learn about Texas’ dinosaurs and view some of the best preserved dinosaur tracks in the world. More adventurous tour members may even place their feet in the actual dinosaur footprints in the Paluxy riverbed where the first sauropod trackways were discovered.

Lunch will be at the Riverhouse Grill, an excellent café offering a variety of menu choices. Following lunch the group will tour Barnard’s Mill Art Museum; the museum is housed in an old mill that was instrumental to the establishment of Glen Rose along the river. Following a guided tour, the group will return to Sherman, arriving between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
